Terms of Service

By creating an account or using Playz ("Playz", "we", "us"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service. You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) to use Playz.

Playz is a peer-to-peer social platform for skill-based prediction contests between users. Playz is not a sportsbook, casino, bookmaker, exchange, or licensed gambling operator. Playz does not set odds, offer lines, take the other side of any contest, accept wagers on its own account, or profit from contest outcomes. Playz acts solely as a neutral technology, escrow, and settlement layer between participating users. All contests are peer-to-peer between users who voluntarily enter into them.

Contests on Playz are designed and intended to be predominantly contests of skill, not chance. A user's performance over time is materially determined by skill-based factors, including but not limited to:

• research, analysis, and knowledge of the underlying subject matter;
• interpretation of public information, statistics, and prior results;
• judgment about timing, framing, and structuring of a prediction;
• strategic selection of which contests to enter and at what amounts;
• reputation, track record, and counterparty selection over repeated play.

Where contests reference real-world events outside any single participant's control, those events serve as a shared, objective resolution source against which participants test their predictive skill — not as a game of chance operated by Playz. Playz does not guarantee that any particular contest will be characterized as a skill contest under the law of every jurisdiction, and users are responsible for determining the legality of participation in their location.

PZ coins are a virtual, in-platform currency with no cash value. PZ coins cannot be exchanged for real currency or transferred outside the platform except as expressly permitted by Playz. PZ coins are not a security, commodity, deposit, e-money, stored value instrument, or investment product. Playz may issue, reclaim, or adjust PZ balances at its discretion to correct errors, enforce these Terms, or comply with the law.

You represent that you are at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) and a legal resident of a jurisdiction where peer-to-peer skill prediction contests are permitted. Playz may restrict or prohibit access from certain U.S. states, territories, or countries at any time and without notice. You are solely responsible for compliance with all laws applicable to you, including any local prohibitions on contests of skill for prizes.

For the avoidance of doubt: Playz does not accept bets, does not offer or publish odds, does not act as a bookmaker or betting exchange, and does not take any position in any contest. Any references in marketing or user interface copy to "stakes," "pots," "payouts," or similar terms describe the mechanics of a peer-to-peer skill prediction contest and shall not be construed as offering gambling, wagering, or betting services.

You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and not impersonate others. You will not collude, share accounts, manipulate outcomes, exploit bugs, use bots or automated agents, or otherwise interfere with the fair operation of contests. Violations may result in suspension, forfeiture of PZ balances, and termination.

Contest outcomes are determined using publicly available data sources and on-platform resolution rules disclosed at the time of contest creation. While we strive for accuracy, we make no warranty as to the timeliness or correctness of third-party data. Disputes about contest outcomes must be submitted within 7 days of settlement.

You may not use Playz for money laundering, fraud, terrorism financing, market manipulation, or any unlawful purpose, including participating from a jurisdiction where peer-to-peer skill prediction contests for prizes are prohibited. Playz reserves the right to require identity verification (KYC) and to report suspicious activity to authorities.

Playz is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent permitted by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Playz shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of PZ coins, data, or profits.

You and Playz agree to resolve any dispute through binding individual arbitration, and waive the right to participate in a class action. [Arbitration provider and venue to be confirmed by counsel.]

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of Playz after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
