Support
Answers to the things players ask most. If yours isn't here, email support@playz.app and a person will reply.
The basics
- What is Playz?
- Playz is where you bet your friends, not the house. You call something with a live price (tonight's game, the election, where Bitcoin closes) or write your own terms, put PZ on it, and a friend takes the other side. Playz holds both entries and settles the result. Playz never takes a side, never sets odds, and is not a sportsbook, casino, or exchange.
- Where do the prices come from?
- Reference prices come from Polymarket and Kalshi. They're shown so you and your friend can see what the market thinks before you commit, and challenges linked to a market can settle from that market's official result. Playz doesn't trade on either exchange on your behalf.
- How do I sign in?
- With 1Profile, using your Google or Apple account. There's no separate Playz password. The iPhone app uses the same sign-in, so your account, friends, and PZ are the same everywhere.
- How do I add friends?
- Open Friends and search by handle, or show your QR code and have a friend scan it with the iPhone app. Friend requests have to be accepted before you can challenge or message each other.
Challenges and pools
- How does a one-on-one challenge work?
- Pick a market or write your own terms, choose your side and stake, and send it to a friend. Your entry is held the moment you create it. If your friend declines, or you cancel before they accept, it comes straight back. Once they accept, both entries are held until the challenge settles, and the winner takes the pot minus the platform fee.
- What's a pool?
- A pool is the same idea for a group. Everyone enters the same amount and picks a side. When the result is in, the pool creator calls it, which opens a 24-hour window for anyone in the pool to dispute. If nobody does, the pool settles and the winning side splits the pot after the fee. If the creator cancels the pool, everyone is refunded.
- What's the difference between public and private?
- Public challenges and pools show up on your profile for any signed-in player to see. Private ones are visible only to the people in them. You choose when you create, and you can change the default in your profile settings.
- Can I chat about a challenge?
- Yes. Every challenge and pool has its own chat for the people in it, and you can message any friend directly from Messages.
PZ credits, payments, and fees
- What are PZ?
- PZ are Playz's in-app credits. They're what you put on a challenge and what you win. PZ have no cash value: they can't be cashed out, redeemed, sold, or transferred outside Playz.
- How do I get more PZ?
- Open Wallet and pick a pack: Starter (100 PZ for $10), Pro (1,000 PZ for $100), or Baller (10,000 PZ for $1,000). Checkout is handled by our payment processor, cred.diy; your card details never touch Playz. Purchases are final.
- What does Playz charge?
- A 3% platform fee on the pot of every settled challenge and pool, taken before the winner is paid. You see the exact payout before you create or join. There's no fee on anything that's cancelled, declined, or refunded, and no fee to buy PZ beyond the pack price.
Settlement, disputes, and refunds
- How does a challenge settle?
- Both players confirm the winner. If you both pick the same winner, it settles on the spot. Challenges linked to a Polymarket or Kalshi market also settle automatically once that market resolves; Playz checks every few minutes.
- What if my friend and I disagree?
- The challenge becomes disputed and both entries stay held. Either of you can change your confirmation to resolve it. If it's still disputed 72 hours later, the challenge is cancelled and both entries are refunded in full. The same 72-hour rule applies to disputed pools.
- The event happened but nothing's settled. Now what?
- Nudge your friend to confirm. If a challenge or pool is still open 7 days after its event date, Playz refunds every entry automatically so nobody's PZ get stuck.
- A market settled the wrong way. Can you fix it?
- Linked challenges follow the exchange's official resolution, which is final on their side. If you think Playz read a result incorrectly, email us with a link to the challenge and we'll look at it.
Your account
- How do I change my photo, handle, or bio?
- Open Profile and choose Edit profile, on the web or in the app.
- How do notifications work?
- On the web, the bell in the header shows challenges, results, messages, and friend requests. The iPhone app can also send push notifications; you can turn them on or off in iOS Settings.
- How do I block or report someone?
- From their profile, a message, a challenge, or a pool. Blocking removes the friendship and stops that player from messaging you, challenging you, or seeing your profile. Reports go to us; we review every one.
Deleting your account
- How do I delete my account?
- Open Profile and choose Delete account, on the web or in the iPhone app. You'll be asked to confirm.
- What happens when I delete it?
- Deletion is permanent. Your profile, friendships, messages, Copilot conversations, device tokens, and history are removed, and any remaining PZ are forfeited. Live challenges and pools have to be settled or cancelled first, because other players' entries depend on them. Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
- Can I get a copy of my data instead?
- Yes. Email support@playz.app from the address on your account and we'll send an export.
Fair play
Playz only works if everyone plays straight. These are the rules; breaking them can mean reversed results, adjusted balances, or a closed account.
- Be honest about results. Confirm what actually happened, even when it costs you.
- One person, one account. No alts, no collusion, no fixing outcomes between accounts.
- Keep it friendly. No harassment, threats, spam, or hateful content, in chat or anywhere else.
- No bots or scrapers, and don't exploit bugs. If you find one, tell us.
Playz is for fun between friends. Only put up what you're comfortable losing, and if it stops being fun, take a break. Playz is for people 18 and older.
