Executive Summary
Playz is a social, peer-to-peer prediction and skill-contest platform where friends challenge each other on sports, crypto, culture, gaming, and real-world events. Unlike sportsbooks and casinos, Playz never takes the other side of a contest. We provide the rails — matching, settlement via public data, social graph, and a no-cash-value virtual currency (PZ coins) — and users compete against each other.
We are pursuing a social / skill-contest regulatory posture (the same family as fantasy sports and sweepstakes platforms), which is the lowest-friction path to launch in the United States. This avoids sportsbook licensing while preserving the core product experience: putting your money where your mouth is, against your friends.
The Problem
- Sportsbooks are anti-social. They isolate the user against the house and optimize for losing customers.
- Group chats are full of friendly bets that never get tracked, settled, or paid out.
- Prediction markets (Polymarket, Kalshi) are powerful but feel like trading desks — not where Gen Z hangs out.
- Fantasy sports are seasonal and slow. Modern users want instant, always-on, and meme-able contests.
Our Solution
Playz turns every opinion into a contest. Create a Play in seconds, pick stakes in PZ coins, challenge a friend or open it to the feed, and we settle automatically using public market data (Polymarket, Kalshi, sports feeds) or community-resolved outcomes.
Market Opportunity
The global online betting market exceeds $300B, growing ~10% YoY. The U.S. legalized sports betting market alone is on track to clear $40B in 2027. Adjacent prediction markets (Polymarket, Kalshi) have proven appetite for event-based wagering beyond sports. Fantasy sports has 60M+ U.S. participants. Playz sits at the intersection of all three — social, event-based, and instant.
Our wedge audience is U.S. males 18–34 already in group chats betting on anything that moves. The expansion audience is global, gender-balanced, and culture-driven (Bachelorette finales, election nights, crypto unlocks, esports majors).

Regulatory Strategy
Playz is positioned as a peer-to-peer social skill-contest platform, not a sportsbook or casino. We do not offer house odds. PZ coins are a no-cash-value virtual currency. This places us in the same regulatory family as fantasy sports and sweepstakes platforms, which operate broadly across the U.S. without state-by-state sportsbook licensing.
- Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, age gate (18+), and restricted-state gate live before launch.
- KYC/AML partner (Persona, Veriff, or Plaid IDV) triggered at withdrawal threshold.

The Ask
